Cymera Writing Festival is the only sci-fi, horror and fantasy writing festival in the UK. Our ethos is to provide an inclusive, accessible and diverse programme that captures selected genre fiction at its best. With workshops, events, agent 1-2-1s and more, Cymera Writing Festival provides the Edinburgh community and beyond, with a weekend packed with creativity.

CYMERA is entirely run by volunteers, and as with any festival, there are some things we just need cold hard cash for.

Your donation, however big or small, will help us:

  •       Pay a fee to every panellist appearing at the festival

  •       Bring speakers from all around the UK to Edinburgh

  •       Host our free social events where everyone is welcome

  •       Give free tickets to our talks to those who can’t afford them

  •       Feed and clothe our fantastic festival volunteers

At Cymera, our 'Pay it Forward' scheme helps us ensure that everyone who shares a love of sci-fi, horror and fantasy writing can attend our annual festival held in Edinburgh every June.
