Is CYMERA a convention?

 CYMERA is first and foremost a book festival. That means our festival team works with publisher and writers to curate a programme of talks, debates and writing masterclasses. But that doesn’t mean we won’t have a whole host of social events, a dealers hall where you can buy cool stuff (though ours is called Creators Hall), and of course you can come in cosplay (but please check out our cosplay rules).

How accessible is the venue?

Accessibility is very important to us. We are pleased to say that the Pleasance is very wheelchair accessible, and we will have AV at every event, with hearing induction loop technolgy where possible. We are currently investigating BSL interpretation, quiet spaces and much more, so if you have any access requirements, comments or want to come on board to help us make CYMERA the most accessible festival possible, please get in touch on info@cymerafestival.co.uk

Can I buy a weekend pass?

The only time you can buy a weekend pass is during our Crowdfunding campaign, which runs until the end of January. After that, you can buy individual tickets for all our events.

When and where can I buy ticket?

Our programme will be announced in February 2019, and tickets will be available via our online ticket partner Brown Paper Tickets from 1st March 2019.

How much will tickets be?

All our events will be priced individually, and will cost between £5 and £10 per person, with concessions available for most events.

Can I get my book signed after a talk?

We will have an on-site bookshop selling books by all the speakers, and there will be a signing after each event. You can also bring your much loved copy from home to get it signed.

Will there be cake?

Yes, cake will feature heavily. You can bring your own cake, buy cake from the cafe in our venue or ask our Festival Director to bake you cake. The latter can not be guaranteed.
